Integrating instructional technology into flipped classrooms: The importance of teacher scaffolds

Abstract


There is a large body of research integrating instrucitonal technology in flipped classroom, but fall short of investigating and defining the design principles for the integration and the role teacher plays in the whole process. This study aims to understand staff and student perceptions on teacher's support to faciliate the use of interactive instructional technology in flipped classroom; to explore how to best give support to students via instructional technology and to develop a set of recommendations in the teacher's handling of technology-enhanced learning in flipped classroom. Particular focus in this study is put on desiging an effective model of instruction which allows teachers to adopt with ease.
