Impact of Unplugged on Primary School Students’ Perception of Computational Thinking

Abstract


Computer Science Unplugged was designed to expose novice to the central idea of computer science without programming. It is widely believed that Unplugged activity has the potential to teach computational thinking.

A qualitative research which takes the form of interview will be conducted in several primary schools in Hong Kong. Particularly, interview is designed to find out the effect of Unplugged on computational thinking, especially how it influences students’ perception of computational thinking.

A preliminary curriculum framework using CS Unplugged to teach computational thinking will be put forward based on the result.
