Abstract

Feedback is a critical factor in enhancing student learning but is often difficult to engineer productively. First, I frame feedback as a complex social process involving assessment, pedagogic and relational issues. Second, I discuss some possibilities for technology-enhanced feedback, including audio feedback; and electronic feedback ‘adaptive release’ strategies. Third, I present some examples of technology-facilitated feedback from my recent research, including the use of Facebook for peer feedback; and assessed or non-assessed blogging for dialogic interaction. I conclude with some key recommendations for the development of effective technology-facilitated feedback processes.
